User tip: hose them off when you pull them from the freezer to get the frost off of them. I like to put them on right after I hose down a horse from a work out.

The Tough-1 Cooling Ice Boot is a fast and easy way to apply cold therapy to your horse. It easily fits on lower leg or over hock and includes 4 quick-grip straps that allow you to apply as much compression to the leg as you want. It stays soft when frozen allowing it to conform to the horse's leg. Great for treating arthritic joints, soft tissue, tendons and ligaments. For best results keep in freezer between uses. These are a must for me after any hard work out. As I can’t afford a cold spa at home, these are my go to for cold therapy. I keep them rolled in the freezer and ready to use. In a busy barn I recommend owning multiple sets of these, but even at $35 each, these are still a cheap therapy for your horse’s legs after a long hot work out. For application my tip is to first hose down your horse, then attach the Velcro onto itself so you aren’t left with a tangly mess when you put them on. Then I always start with the top strap and work my way down, applying firm pressure but not putting them on as tight as possible, I just want them to stay and get the leg cold, not cut off circulation. I usually have these on for 15-20 minutes and then follow with Back on Track boots, laser boots, or magnet boots.
I prefer these over other brands as they are all in one, no ice pack to slip out of the Velcro or break open, no having to find multiple pieces, just a simple no nonsense, works right the first time product.
These will fit in a dorm fridge freezer if you are limited on space, or a small chest freezer is great in a busy barn needing multiple sets. We travel with a mini fridge freezer to the shows though and I can get a set of 4 in there, and another set of 4 in the trailer LQ freezer. It can be a bit of a squeeze, but they do fit and mine have held up to multiple years of use. I just hose them off, or if we’re under enhance bioprotocols I wash them with soap or synbiont, hang to dry, and then back in the freezer.
